American Shetland Sheepdog Association

The ASSA is the Parent Club for the breed and is a member club of the AKC. You will find information about the breed, National competition, health information, information about Sheltie clubs in other states, a store and much more. KSSC is affiliated with the American Shetland Sheepdog Association. The ASSA annually holds a National competition which attracts nearly 1000 shelties. In addition to conformation, competitions include agility, obedience, rally, and herding. This week-long event is held in the spring, usually, April, in Purina Farms Dog Facility, Gray Summit, MO.

American Kennel Club

KSSC is an affiliated club of AKC. The AKC is the world’s largest and oldest not-for-profit all breed registry. It has more than 5,000 licensed and member club and affiliated organizations. Their site is a wonderful resource for all dog resources including schedules of performance and conformation events.

United Kennel Club

Established in 1893, the UKC is an international dog registry that in their words: celebrate the Total Dog through family-friendly events and programs highlighting canine bonds, instincts, and heritage while maintaining the virtue of our pedigrees.
